Tuscan living is an italian-based company, built on over twenty years of experience in the property development and hospitality market in tuscany. We specialize in guiding foreign property owners in the restoration and interior design of rural properties; an important and intricate collaboration of trust and understanding based on individual needs to create beautiful and functional homes. Susan pennington, british by birth, came to tuscany in 1990 having spent six years with a british auction house in new york city. Her background however was in business and retailing in london, though real estate and tourism run in her veins having grown up in a family of property investors and developers on the coast of wales. For many years susan developed and managed an agriturismo on a beautiful 3000-acre agricultural family estate just outside of siena; a multifaceted task which involved the refurbishment and renovation of over a dozen buildings for holiday rentals and recreation facilities, planning and design, cost-estimating, contracting, overseeing construction, to finally furnishing, marketing and the management of vacation rentals. Working with a team of carefully selected associates, each chosen for their particular skills and experience, tuscan living is able to offer a comprehensive service for the restoration or rural properties; from project managing restoration and refurbishing, sourcing materials, to interior and exterior design services. Susan’s passion for antiques and decorative arts has also led her to work with dealers and designers from across the globe, helping them to curate collections of italian furniture and decorative arts for their clients both at home and abroad, as well as hosting small, select bespoke groups for tuscan lifestyle tours.
